A few of her specialties:
Within the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community, seeking mental health services is still seen as taboo. Growing up, I’ve seen the devastating effects ignoring the necessity of mental health care can have on a person, a family, and a community. I chose this field to let others within the community know that it is okay to seek assistance whether you consider your situation mild or severe. There are many resources and people, such as myself, in the community ready to help.
I use an integrative approach to therapy. This means that I select techniques from different therapeutic orientations that may work best for the individual client. My core clinical approaches to therapy include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused therapy, and Mindfulness-Based therapy.
In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading, cooking, and going to social events with my family.
